About SDI
Swope Designs, Inc. (SDI) was founded in 2003 by John Swope, BSEE, and is based in Northern California.
John has been inventing and building things since he was four years old, when he took apart his sister's toy sewing machine to work out how to make its motor run. He graduated summa cum laude from the University of the Pacific, with a 4.0 GPA in engineering and related courses, and has 26+ years of professional electrical-engineering experience.
Before starting his own businesses, John worked at three major corporations: Intel, HP and Lockheed Martin. Besides SDI, he has founded two other high-technology start-ups and brought new products to market. That cross-disciplinary expertise, together with an entrepreneur's view of the whole product, helps him see the big picture and keep each client's best interest in mind.
His aim with every client is a relationship of trust, integrity and responsibility.
